Course. The discipline emphasizes both theoretical and practical education to assure the quality, safety, and efficacy of drugs, which fulfills one of the basic tasks in pharmaceutical studies. Qualified faculty and well-equipped instrumentation room make this department suitable for modern-day teaching and research. The department is dedicated to research and education at the interface of the chemical and biological sciences and make students creative and independent investigators in academic settings. The mission of the department is to enlighten the students about the application of analytical techniques for the conduct of research in medicinal and analytical chemistry in accordance with the drug regulatory affairs, to make them understand the development of quality assurance and quality control protocols as per GMP, GLP and cGMP guidelines.

The department has well-maintained laboratories with sophisticated glassware and a central instrumentation room with advanced versions of the analytical equipment. Instruments like HPLC, FTIR and UV spectrophotometers, Polarimeter, Flame photometer, Sonicator, Refractometer, and statistical software are employed for regular teaching and research purpose. The department provides exhaustive knowledge of analytical technology including bioanalysis and also analytical and bioanalytical method development and validation, stability studies and impurity profiling.
