Department of Pharmacology

Preamble:

The Department of Pharmacology was established in the year 2014 and it offers M. Pharm. (Pharmacology) program. The Department has experienced faculty members and well trained in research activities. The Department trains the students in the areas like Animal handling, Pharmaceutical Screening Methods, and Drug Development, Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, Recent Advances in Pharmacology. Department has a separate instrumentation lab with well-established instruments for research activity. The Department is expertise in the research areas such as evaluation of Anti-cancer Activity, Immunomodulatory Activity, Hepatoprotective Activity, Anti-asthmatic Activity, Anti-parkinsonism Activity, Anti-inflammatory Activity, Analgesic Activity, Anti-depressant Activity, Anti-diabetic Activity, Antimicrobial, Antioxidant Activity, Anti-obesity Activity, CNS Activity and Neuropharmacology studies in Daniorerio (Zebrafish) etc. The Department is equipped with a well established Animal House facility with breeding for in-house use, approved by CPCSEA, New Delhi. The department has a Research Lab equipped with modern facilities with modern instruments. The department has innovative teaching-learning methods like Based Learning, OSPE (objectively structure Practical Examination), thematic poster sessions and student lead discussion & seminars. The department publishes a number of papers every year in various scientific Journals.
